Officials from all schools in Bell County are saying enough is enough and they want to see an end to smoking in schools.
Officials say they're ready to send students who smoke to court.
Students at Middlesboro High School say whether they smoke or not it is something that's hard to stay away from... a trip to the bathroom.
School administrators say they've tried to catch smokers, but even when they do the punishments aren't enough to deter them.
So Middlesboro Independent, Pineville Independent, and Bell County High Schools are ready to work with the court system to stop the problem.
"We want them to know, if they do get caught, the rules have changed," Principal Ed Jones said.
After the first offense the school will then send the student to court where they'll likely face fines and community service.
Students, principals, and teachers hope the new policy will mean a breath of fresh air soon.
The new policy is set to take effect at all schools in Bell County on October First.
