Southern Kentucky Native Will Appear in Glamour Magazine

Posted: Wed 8:46 PM, Sep 20, 2006

An eastern Kentucky woman is appearing on the pages of October's Glamour Magazine for being one of Glamour's Top Ten College Women of the Year.

20 year old Elizabeth Scoville is currently a Biotechnology and Chemistry double major at the University of Kentucky with a four point oh g.p.a.

The Laurel County native was recognized for her work with the computers for kids program, a project she started as a girl scout that takes old computers and fixes them for eastern Kentucky students who can't afford them.

Scoville's proud parents say that's not all she's accomplished...

"She was a presidential scholar, a prudential spirit of the community award winner, she was a Toyota scholar," John Scoville said.

"She's gotten the governor's award for volunteerism, and those were in high school," Lawana Scoville said.

Scoville has spent her past two summers doing medical research on Cystic Fibrosis at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
