Two Tennessee Doctors Plead Not Guilty

Two Tennessee doctors plead not guilty to illegally prescribing painkillers to people in Harlan County.

Doctors Visu Vilvarajah and Miriella Lalanne are each charged with engaging in organized crime, second degree assault and wanton endangerment.

Vilvarajah is being held on five-million dollars bond.

Lalanne's bond is set at one million dollars because she has no prior criminal history.

Officials say the bond amounts are so high because both are considered flight risks.

Vilvarajah served five years of a 20-year sentence for the 1986 murders of his then wife and mother-in-law.

They were my doctor's and they didnt do this. Thier office was ran in a very strict way and you had to have documentation of your illness and you could not have any criminal convictions to even see either of the doctors. Now I have no doctor and I am disabled. Anyone who knew Dr. V and Dr. Lalanne know that they would never do these things. If the people who came to see them from Kentucky decided to go home and sell thier drugs then they are stupid. They cost all the people who really are hurt to not have a Doctor anymore, THANKS!!

how can someone have the right to treat people who has killed his family i say throw away the key these kinds of doctors are some of the reasons we have so many people addicted to pain pills they make it easy access for them to get it i say make them an exapmle and tell the people of the community that we have had enough of this. its time to clean up the community.
