Wednesday brought quite a scare for a middle school student who had to fight off a man who tried to drag her into his car as she walked to school.

Georgetown Police are now investigating the attempted abduction along Old Lemons Mill at Hamilton Street.

13-year-old Katelynn King says the man came up and grabbed her as she crossed the street.

King says she fought back, kicking him and spraying him with pepper spray.

King says at that point, her attacker let go of her and took off in a tan or gold mid-90's Buick sedan with a busted out driver's side tail light.

King says she'd noticed the man on multiple occasions and thought he was following her as she walked to and from school. Her aunt bought her the pepper spray at that time.

Police have released a composite sketch of the man police are now looking for.

They say he is a white man, about six feet tall between the ages of 50 and 60, with a distinctive mole on his nose.

If you recognize this man you're asked to call Georgetown Police at 502-863-7820.

The reason KIatelynn had to carry the pepper spray is because the Georgetown police department doesnt do anything to protect the citizens of Georgetown. They are doing nothing now to look for or apprehend her assailent, and he is still stalking her.

If the girl did not have the pepper spray she may be dead by now.she done the right thing by defending her self with it. the main thing here she should have not had to defend herself it this pervert would have left her alone. This animal got some of what was coming to him but he needs to be put in jail from now on.

This young lady is certainly brave. Now that this has been in the news any other pervert out there knows her route to school. I think if she were my daughter I would either change her route to school or take her to school.

O.S she was just asking a question, so quit being a (edited). And she right you can't have pepper spry at school she would been arrested. And how did he drive off, if was sprayed with pepper spray that stuff would burn your eyes and you wouldn't be able to see for a while.

to concerned parent in geaorgetown, would you rather your kid or kids get taken against willand raped or killed when there are ways for themselves to protect themselves. you cannot keep eyes on your kids 24/7 so why not teach them how to defend themselves if you or someone else is not around to do so. there will always be people who abuse the uses of pepper spray or other weapons just as people abuse alcohol and other things.

Best class I ever took in school was a self-defense class. Had to use what I learned twice when I was young. Maybe we should teach these young kids how to defend themselves so these freaks will think twice about trying this crap. The pepper spray was definitely a nice touch. Go Katelynn!!!
