Ice Storm: By The Numbers

To understand the scope of the ice storm of 2009, here are some numbers released by the state.

4,911miles of road were affected by the storm.

4,100 Kentucky National Guard troops were mobilized to help with debris removal and welfare checks.

220 emergency shelters were opened to care for people without heat.

Nearly a million meals and close to two million liters of water were given to victims.

The storm is blamed for 36 deaths across the state.
