Obama to Pitch Broad Economic Case to Nation

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is barreling ahead on a
mammoth economic agenda by making his case to the nation.
Obama is set to give a prime-time speech at 9 p.m. Tuesday to
Congress and to millions of people watching at home. His goal is
explain that fixing the economy will take progress on several
serious matters at once, and that the passage of the $787 billion
stimulus plan was just a start.
Officials say the president's speech will touch on foreign
policy and is not expected to roll out new policy initiatives.
In essence, it is a chance for Obama to update the nation on
what his administration has done with Congress - and build a case
for more action on health care, energy, education and the budget
deficit.

This is the biggest political bribe in world history. As the famous founding father Thomas Jefferson once stated--"A government big enough to GIVE you all you want is also big enough to TAKE all you have".

To Terri the Obama water carrier, A quote from Teddy Roosevelt (a real President) that pretty much defines Obama: "Educate a man in mind and not in morals and you educate a menace to society."

The Snake-Oil Salesman, American Idol President peddles his latest cure-all in a desperate attempt to yet again fool the American voters. I got $20 that says the DJIA will tank at least 200 points tomorrow in the aftermath of this fool's speech.

The Obama administration is taking political advantage by promising to deliver us, if not from evil, than from anxiety. Instead of encouraging independence, government will now encourage dependence. John F. Kennedy's oration has been turned on its head. Today, it isn't, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." It is, "Ask not what you can do for your country; ask what your country can do for you." No one can say we weren't warned. Obama promised to "spread the wealth around," rather than create conditions that would offer opportunities for more people to become wealthy.

Obama is rapidly changing things. Once, we honored and encouraged hard work, individual responsibility, integrity and achievement. The fruits of success were our reward. Today, we discourage such things by rewarding failure, mediocrity, incompetence and envy. If one does succeed using the old values, the government imposes penalties of higher taxes and more regulations to subsidize those who won't embrace the virtues that built and sustained the nation through truly hard times. This is the essense of the Obama Stimu-Less Bill.

You forgot to mention that he will spend a majority of his time blaming the Bush administration, oil companies, and bank executives for the economy. Big government spending will not get even a mention.

Will we be discussing the 9,000 earmarks (reported by the Lexington Liberal-Leader) that aren't in the Stimu-less bill?

Expanding energy exploration and production to U.S. offshore areas that were off limits until recently could result in more than a trillion dollar goverment windfall and millions of new jobs, a report said on Monday. Oil and natural gas development in newly opened offshore areas will generate $1.7 trillion in federal tax revenue and almost $600 million in state and local taxes throughout the life span of the new fields, according to the study conducted by the American Energy Alliance. The increased offshore energy production would also support 1.2 million jobs annually. But instead of this Obama is putting off shore off-limits again. remember the Obama and Dimocraps were all for this BEFORE the election. Now they have changed their tiny minds again. No oil, no gas, no coal, no nukes and NO JOBS. Although Obama will expand welfare for his constituent groups.

As The Obama government marches ever closer to socialism and Marxism, we might remind ourselves that nearly every dictator in the world is an ardent proponent of those systems. Socialism and Marxism, by definition, cannot come about without major consolidations of power in the central government. These consolidations, which are invariably sold as democratic and compassionate governments for the benefit and security of the people, result in tyranny and wholesale subjugation of the people. In the name of compassion, or economic stimulus, the Obama government gets its tentacles into our local business and begins to micromanage our lives from Washington, whether in education, commerce or even executive salaries for private corporations. Who knows, the usurpers might even have the audacity to try to micromanage decisions of local governments once they dole out money they steal from taxpayers and their offspring to fund this stimulus ruse.
