House Speaker Discloses Past Stake in Racehorse

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo has
amended his state ethics report to disclose he was part owner of
thoroughbred Kassidy's Kiss.

Stumbo has pushed legislation to legalize video gambling
machines at Kentucky racetracks in an effort to bring in more money
to the cash-strapped state and bolster purses for winning horses.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Tuesday that Stumbo's
office called the Legislative Ethics Commission last month about a
possible error on his 2008 financial disclosure papers. He has
since amended the report to reference the horse.

Stumbo, a Prestonsburg Democrat, said he owned about 20 percent
of the racehorse. His 2009 report claimed he sold his stake.
