Return To U.S. Delayed For Local Soldiers

A special welcome home ceremony has been delayed this week for hundreds of Kentucky soldiers.

Some 400 soldiers with the 201st engineer battalion, of the Kentucky Army National Guard, are coming home from Afghanistan.

A ceremony was planned for Tuesday at Boyd County Middle School, but it's now been pushed back until Thursday at the earliest.

The delay comes as a result of flight issues for the returning soldiers.

The unit has soldiers from Ashland, Olive Hill, Cynthiana and Prestonsburg.
