Ambushed Police Officer Out Of Hospital


A Jeffersonville police officer shot
last month along with another officer during an ambush at a motel
has been released from a Louisville hospital.
Cpl. Daniel Lawhorn was released Wednesday from University
Hospital in Louisville and moved to a rehabilitation hospital in
New Albany to continue his recuperation.
Lawhorn was wounded Feb. 19 in an ambush at a Jeffersonville
motel, where he and another officer were called to investigate
suspected drug activity. Fellow officer Keith Broady, who was also
wounded in the attack, remains in fair condition.
The suspected gunman, Robert Dattilo, committed suicide the
night after the shootings during a standoff at a Louisville house
where he had fled.
