In his first interview since serious animal cruelty allegations created a media storm surrounding his entourage, Flo Rida spoke out to his hometown radio station Y-100 in Miami.

The rapper told the DJ he nor anyone on his tour bus had anything to do with killing the animal.

"This is just a misunderstanding," Flo Rida said. "We were just stopped at an intersection, and we saw this man who was strung out on drugs dismantling an animal."

Flo Rida said police have this man on tape or have a picture of him. He goes on to say the man came up to their bus with the dead animal in hand.

"We couldn't believe it and in no way condone this mans actions. We just want to apologize to the people of Kentucky, for all of this attention, even though we had nothing to do with it---other than being there," he said.

On Thursday afternoon he released this statement.

"While no one in my party was in any way involved in any incident, the media report that I saw was sickening. As an animal lover, I would never want to see cruelty inflicted upon them."

Local authorities have not said if anyone is facing charges or what they believe actually happened.

A 27 NEWSFIRST viewer called in to say he saw the whole thing. And that Flo Rida and his entourage had nothing to do with killing the animal, in fact they were trying to help the man.

Previous Story:

It involves a shocking allegation involving a popular hip hop artist who was in town for a CD signing.

Lexington Police are now searching for Flo Rida's tour bus in several states on allegations of animal cruelty.

It is after an incident that reportedly happened Wednesday afternoon on Nicholasville road at Jesselin Drive.

According to an Animal Control officer, a witness reportedly observed the tour bus stopping the location, where two men got out of the bus.

The witness told police men from the bus committed an act of cruelty to an animal.

Police have said the animal was a rabbit, and without being graphic, they say the witness reportedly saw the men kill it and then leave.

Immediately, Lexington Police, Kentucky State Police and Lexington Animal Control began investigating the incident.

Then police put out an attempt to locate for the tour bus, which we are told was heading to Columbus, Ohio. The animal control officer says at this point they just want to question the people on the bus.

It's still unclear, if Flo Rida himself, whose real name is Tramar Dillard had anything to do with this alleged incident.
