One eastern Kentucky county will soon have much more room to house inmates.
The Harlan County Judge Executive says the new Harlan County Detention Center is nearly complete.
He says the new facility will ease overcrowding which has been a problem at the old jail in Harlan.
The new jail is located just north of Harlan off highway 38 in Verda.
The Judge-Executive says the new detention center should be ready to house inmates by mid to late November.
