Gas Prices Tumble in Central Kentucky

Posted: Sun 11:39 PM, Sep 24, 2006

It's a sight we haven't seen in a long time. Gas prices tumble below the two dollar a gallon mark!

At the Speedway station on Winchester Road, cars lined up to fill up for just $1.94 a gallon. Across the street, Thorton's and Shell were selling gas for $1.97 a gallon.

Gas prices across the country are dropping just as fast..

The Lundberg Survey reports retail gas prices have dropped nearly a quarter in the past two weeks.

Lexington is selling gas well below the national average of $2.42 a gallon. That's down from $2.65 a gallon two weeks ago.
