Coach John Calipari's first stop Monday morning was Memorial Coliseum to accept what he calls his "dream job."

But the new UK Basketball Coach then headed to Memphis for a press conference there.

It was an emotional press conference at his Memphis home, even causing him to walk out for a few minutes to collect his thoughts.

The main point he tried to drive home was how difficult it will be to leave Memphis after 9 years.

But again at his Memphis home, he told a group of reporters that he just couldn't turn the Kentucky job down.

This man has shown alot of class. Reminds me of the class that Coach Patino shows each and every game. I hope he has great success here and does not let the "bad fans" ruin his dream of coaching the Elite University of Kentucky Wildcats. He is not Coach Patino but from what I have seen so far he is very close when it comes to class. Welcome to UK Coach Calipari, hope you have much success. I like his style of basketball and the energy he brings to the court. I wish Coach Gillispie the best but I would have to agree Coach Calipari will fit in better here at UK. Man the Louisville and Kentucky games sure are going to be exciting now.

After 2 years we finally get a people person and family oriented person as a head coach. If BG had been more of a people person and upstanding he may still be here. I'm looking forward to basketball season to watch UK bounce back and become a national champ again.

Welcome aboard "Coach Cal".....I think us "UK Wildcat" fans are glad to have...Granted, some may not be....I cannot think of nobody just yet....I am tickled to death to have you...The T.V. conference really convinced me a lot about you. I really think I am going to like your style. There is no doubt the players are going to like you... Make up proud, and also to mention. I honestly believe the Commonwealth welcomes you and your family. Go get them 2009-2010 Coach Cal!!!!
