Coach John Calipari says he's commiting to positive action on and off the court.

In his first public news conference, the new U-K Men's Basketball Coach vowed that he and his wife would be active in the community.

The couple is known for their charitable and community work in Memphis.

    This just shows the character of our new coach. It makes me feel good that he is mentoring our players. That is going to go a long way both on and off the court. I am proud to have him representing us. He clearly understands his responsibilites where Gillespie did not.

    This is great news. Tubby set a good example in his charity work. Gillespie did absolutely nothing.
