A central Kentucky deputy sheriff has been fired after being indicted by a federal grand jury on drug and gun charges.

Clark County deputy Jonathan Bradley Myers was arrested
yesterday after being indicted. He was charged with drug
trafficking, official misconduct and a weapons-related charge.

Myers was fired by Sheriff Ray Caudill pending the outcome of
the investigation. Caudill says he'll consider rehiring Myers if
the charges are dropped.

Caudill says no other deputies are under investigation. Myers had worked for the sheriff's department since January 2003. He is the son of Clark County Judge-Executive John Myers, who is running for re-election in November.
