I cannot believe how many people make such comments about a situation they know nothing about. You take the words from a story in the press, you add whatever you want to, you assume someone iS guilty before there is ever a trial and you convict based on nothing but accusations. I would hate to be the person that made these types of statements and then find out it really was her husband. Would any of you be willing to step forward and say publicly, I was wrong, I stuck my nose where it didn't belong and I judged her when it wasn't my place to do that? As I recall, her Dad did nothing but ask everyone to reserve comment until the whole story is told, I don't think it was an issue of trying the case before anyone, maybe his heart was broken like the rest of his family and he was tired of the things that were being said. I wonder how many of you go to church and "claim" the blood of Jesus...aren't you the same as the ones that screamed..."CRUCIFY HIM!"?

Ans this sick, disgusting image of a human being was trusted to teach so many precious children...

I have a 10 month old son and just this morning he woke up at 3:30 and with every effort on my part short of getting him out of bed, he would not go back to sleep. I finally relented and decided to put him in bed with me. When I picked him up out of bed, he wrapped his precious, trusting little arms around my neck and gave me the sweetest hug ever. How anyone could harm a little gift like this that is totally dependant on it's parent is beyond me. I don't even want to hear any excuses because there are none. And this woman was teaching school also. I agree with you cwell and the thoughts of what this mother did to her baby makes me want to puke!

As a single man I don't have children but I just don't see how anyone could kill a child. There have been so many child killings lately and I just don't understand it. God help us all.

No criticism from me. I watched this case closely, too, and was amazed at the defenses and excuses thrown out by family, particularly the dad who wanted to try his daughter's case on an internet forum. Apparently all the "real stories" family/friends were talking about haven't been proven over the last two years, or we wouldn't be wasting the court's time. I think they were trying to insinuate that dad was the culprit...guess he wasn't.

I don't critcize you cwell. You are absolutely right. I'm glad to see WKYT following this story and I hope they do until the end. This story haunted me and I have thought about it several times since.

This case has taken a long time to come to court.

I remember this case when it first happened because this baby was born at the same hospital as my son around the same time. My beautiful boy is 2 now, and he's talking and learning new things every day. The picture they showed on the news of this baby has ceaselessly haunted me as I've watched my son grow. As a mother, I know having a new baby is stressful, but even if they convict this woman and give her whatever the maximum sentence is, it won't be enough in my opinion. Only a monster could hurt something so defenseless. God gave her a little miracle that many people would give anything for and she threw him away. I know people will critize me for saying this, but I don't care.
