Meanwhile, another murder trial came to a close last week in Whitley County.
Loretta Evans was found guilty in the murder of 76-year-old Edgar Perkins, who was found strangled to death in his home in 2004, while a second defendant, Evelyn Ball, was found not guilty.
The jury recommended Evans serve a life sentence for murder with an additional 20 years for first-degree robbery.
Formal sentencing will be January eighth.
