Floor Collapse Injures 3 At Arena

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Three workers have been injured by a floor collapse at the site of the new downtown basketball arena.

The Courier-Journal reports there were about a dozen construction workers in the area when the concrete floor gave way Monday. Louisville Fire and Rescue Maj. Carroll Hauter says the floor fell between two concrete pillars.

Three workers were taken to University Hospital. Hauter says one worker suffered a puncture wound to his arm and the others had
minor abrasions.

Work on the northern portion of the arena was halted while firefighters inspect the structure. Officials from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were also on their way to investigate the site.
