Two Bus Drivers Are Suspended

Two bus drivers are suspended after allegations of misconduct towards students.

The Corbin Times Tribune reports one of the drivers from the Corbin Independent School District is accused of leaving a student unattended on a bus.

The other is accused of slapping a student.

Both were suspended last week.

Assistant Superintendent Darrell Tremaine told the paper the alleged incidents are under investigation.

The drivers were not identified.

I am a school bus driver myself and yes we do get treated with the utmost disrespect by the students and sometimes even parents but there is NOTHING we can do! It is NOT fair! It doesn't help when school officials do not follow through with the bus conduct reports either. If a student gets a bus conduct report all that is done in most cases is their recess or bake sale privileges taken from them???

And why didn't your son get off the boss? Hiding between the seats to skip class? Seriously our kids walk all over school officials, whether bus drivers or principals. We need to bring back spanking in school in my opinion. I was spanked once in kindergarden and I never acted up again. It wasn't anything more than what my parents did when I was bad so i don't see the problem. People are just way to soft these days and thats why we live in such crappy times. If people had backbones like they did 20 years ago we'd be so much better off as a country.

How I wish the school officials would let us have school vouchers so parents could decide for their own children instead of the state. If my child acts up on the bus its perfectly ok for the driver to make him act right everhow he has to. Pray for our schools.
