A Bourbon County teenager who was hit by a truck while attempting to cross the street remains in critical condition at U.K. Hospital.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Monday in Paris on Clintonville Road at Wings Nolk Street.

The teenager was crossing the road when witnesses say he looked one way but not the other.

The boy was unresponsive when first responders arrived on the scene. The teen was taken by ambulance to Bourbon County Hospital, then flown to U.K. Hospital.

At this time, the driver of the vehicle that hit the teen has only been charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police say the investigation continues.

this is a child hit by a illegal driver and prob a illegal border jumper!!!!!!! It aint like this baby jumped in front of him. Charge him already not just for a unvalid license.

We have too many people in prison as it is. Have you taken a look at penetentiaries in Kentucky? They're so full, some inmates don't have beds. Why should we put this guy in prison? The kid walked out in front of him, it's not like the driver swerved onto the sidewalk to hit the pedestrian. He tried to stop and couldn't, and I'd bet the people calling for attempted murder wouldn't have been able to stop either.

attempted murder is when you ATTEMPT TO MURDER someone, maybe if the truck driver ran him down on the sidewalk. but this boy stepped out in front of the truck.

Yeah, I'm sorry but you can't charge someone with attempted murder when someone walks out in front of you into traffic. Feel bad for this person and hope they get better but I was taught in kindergarden to look both ways.

The boy walked out in front of the truck, it makes no differences who or what the driver was it was the boys fault, why should the driver be charged with atempted murder?
