Fans To Gather In Honor Of Derby Winner

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday to remember Kentucky Derby winner Alysheba.

The horse won the 1987 Kentucky Derby and Preakness.

The 25-year-old champion retired as racing's all time money winner with more than $6.6 million in earnings from 11 wins in 26 lifetime starts.

He was euthanized last month following a fall in his stall at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions.

The memorial service will be held at 3:30 at the Horse Park.
