Vice Mayor Asks For Action

Lexington's Vice Mayor is calling for the developers of the Centrepointe project to do something with the sunken lot where the skyscraper is set to be built.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Jim Gray told the Urban-County Council that Dudley and Woodford Webb should be asked to fill the block with grass and open sidewalks.

The block of buildings was demolished last summer to make room for what's promised to be the site of a hotel and condos.

Construction was supposed to begin last fall. Signs for the project were just put up last week.
