Investigation Is Underway After Body Is Found Near Bridge

State police are investigating after a body was found this afternoon under a railroad bridge in the city of Martin in Floyd County.

State Police say CSX Railroad employees discovered a body Monday morning underneath a railroad bridge near a creek.

Police identified the body as Martin resident William Reynolds the Third, a fifty-nine year old man.

Even though there is a no trespassing sign on the bridge, detectives believe he was on the bridge

"At this time, all the information we have indicates that he may have fell from the train bridge," Trooper Scott Hopkins said.

Police believe this was an accident.

Detectives are doing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death but say there's no sign of a struggle or anything else to indicate anyone could have harmed him.

"Although we can't make a 100 percent determination until we receive our information from the autopsy," Trooper Hopkins said.

Police plan to do the autopsy in Frankfort on Tuesday.

City officials say they've never had problems at the bridge before and not many trains use it now.
