One Central Kentucky city moves closer to putting a vicious dog ordinance on the books.
City Commissioners passed the first reading of the proposal Tuesday.
Under the proposed law dog owners would pay between $200 and $500 if their dog attacks.
Mayor Dodd Dixon says they're targeting drug dealers with dangerous pets.
The city of Winchester defines a vicious dog as any dog trained for fighting or a dog which attacks when it's not provoked.
