Rockcastle County Man Hospitalized After Being Shot

A Rockcastle County man is in critical condition after he was shot outside a Mount Vernon home.

Police say 50 year old Danny Simpson was outside Darrell Griffin's home armed with a baseball bat. Police say when Griffin came outside, Simpson threatened him, and hit Griffin's car with the bat. Police say that's when Griffin shot Simpson in the chest. He was taken to the U.K. Medical Center.

No charges have been filed.
