LOUISVILLE, KY -- A pedestrian died early today morning after being struck twice by cars on Interstate 265 between Preston Highway and Interstate 65, Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said.
The woman had been in a car with two other people that had pulled over on the side of the road, Smiley said. She was arguing with someone, and that person threw her cell phone into the road, she said.
When the woman stepped into the road to pick up her phone, she was struck by a car that did not stop, and another vehicle hit her while she was lying in the road, Smiley said.
Police are investigating who was driving the car that hit her first. No charges have been filed. The incident happened around 2:55 a.m., and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, reports The Louisville Courier-Journal.
