Remembering artist killed by truck

The victim of a weekend crash in Bourbon County is being remembered as a talented artist.

57-year-old Liz Pizzo was trying to cross Jackstown Road after getting her mail Saturday when a truck hit and killed her. It was raining heavily at the time of the crash.

Police say the 19-year-old driver of the truck, Jose Salinas, did not have a license. He's being held in a local jail until Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) can determine if he's in the country legally.

Pizzo was a retired horse jockey and an artist. Much of her artwork is on display at the American Saddlebred Museum at the Kentucky Horse Park.
