Several students from Garrard County High School have been suspended following a drug investigation.

Officials say a student brought prescription medication to Garrard County High School, passed it out and sold it to classmates.

School officials say less than 10 students total have been suspended so far for receiving and buying prescription anti-depressants. They say most of those involved were from the Freshman class.

The student accused of providing the anti-depressants, 15-year-old Tori Rigsby, spoke to 27 NEWSFIRST. She says it was a mistake.

"I talked to the parents and said I was truly sorry, and I am," says Rigsby. "If I knew this was going to happen I wouldn't have done it."

Rigsby's mother, Martha Rigsby, says kids will be kids.

"It didn't bother me," says Martha Rigsby. "I know kids are going to make mistakes. Now if it was something else like a gun, then I'd panic, but drugs you're going to find that anywhere."

And she insists her daughter has learned her lesson.

The Garrard County School Board will now have to decide what other consequences Rigsby will face, which includes possible expulsion and criminal charges.

No illnesses have been reported in connection to the situation.

i think somebody needs to ask her where exactly she got the drugs. I mean seriously, she's not even in her mom's custody. she's just a kid who was trying to do better in school. who made a mistake, who deserves a second chance. the drug busts in this school before, all those kids got a second chance. why not tori? because it made the news? she had no reason to be on there her dad didn't agree to it. being peer pressured these days is a lot worse than you think. drugs are something everyone, not just one or two are doing. i bet if you drug tested the whole school, more than half would be gone. Tori gets caught, and everyone else who has done it before gets off free. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve to face the consequences because she does. she done it, so she pays for it. she made a stupid mistake; and she will learn from it. so seriously guys, calling them trash and stuff on here is just childish for real. you don't know her, or her family. you don't know what they've been through.

By the way the mother acted on TV it was some of her drugs the daughter sold. It's pretty apparent she didn't sell them all. The mother was wacked out.

Every single one of you people never summited to peer pressure before! Everyone of you had a perfect life. I'm not making excuses, but really do any of you really have the right to judge someone, unless you are perfect like I said. By the way she doesn't live with her mother, but her father has custody & as far as I know he didn't allow his underage child to speak on camera!!

I cannot believe a mother would say the things she says..its just a drug and not a gun..does she not realize how deadly drugs can be & just as deadly as a gun? Usually its our county that is hot on the news like our county is the only drug affected one in the state. When did kids start using anti-depressants as a drug? Thats a new one. I did not know you could get high from an anti-depressant. If officials do not take some drastic measures & make an example of these kids, especially the one that brought them there, then it will happen again. Drugs are all over, and not just in Ky, but ALL other states as well. Drugs have gotten out of hand & I don't think they will ever have drugs in control but they surely won't ever get them in control if they don't make the punishment fit the crime. Kids could have died from this. The name of the drug was not mentioned nor did it say where the girl got it. [edited] What a mother!

Suspended!?!?!?!?....Most "DRUG DEALERS AND BUYERS" go to jail. Why wasn't these (Drug Dealers and Buyers) kids go to jail. The mother of the "Drug Dealer" should go to jail to. The attitude of the mother is the dumbest I have ever seen.
