New information about the tragic shooting death of a Kentucky Police Officer.

Bowling Green Police Sergeant David Whitson died in the line of duty Tuesday morning. Now, investigators say another officer may have accidentally shot Whitson during a fight with a suspect.

Around ten-thirty, Bowling Green Police Officers were called to a home on Vine Street. That's where a man was threatening a woman with knives.

Police say the suspect attacked Sergeant Whitson, and that two other officers used deadly force to try and protect Whitson. In the process, both Whitson and the suspect were shot.
The two died less than an hour later at a hospital.

Police won't say Whitson was shot by a fellow officer, but do say the suspect never had a gun.

The two officers who were involved are on administrative leave until the investigation is over.
