Candidate Accuses Opponent of Using False Endorsement

Another candidate for public office is accusing his opponent of falsely using an endorsement from Congressman Hal Rogers.

Bell County Judge Executive Bill Kelley says his republican challenger, Albey Brock, is using a false statement from Hal Rogers in a mailer out Friday that endorses Brock.

"But to use Congressman Hal Rogers, who's a friend to all and make it seem as though he's endorsing, this is just, I'm sorry, deception," said Kelley.

"I absolutely have the endorsement to do that mailer. It's sad that we're even having to defend this. It's obvious that this is a desperate act on my opponent's part," Brock said.

WYMT spoke to a spokesperson for the Kentucky Republican Party who made the mailer and he tells us, that Hal Rogers did endorse their candidate or they wouldn't have made it. We also spoke with a spokesperson with the Hal Rogers Campaign about this ad and the ad controversy in Martin County we covered Thursday. Rogers' spokesperson told us Rogers doesn't comment about situations like these.
