Police in Scott County are upset today after they say they wasted valuable resources to investigate a kidnapping claim.
A 13-year-old girl told police she was in her front yard late Sunday night on Hiawatha Trail in Georgetown when two men forced her into a van at gunpoint.
She says she got out of the van on Main Street and told some EMS workers what had happened.
Police say the report caused emotional upheaval in the department.
It's likely the girl will be prosecuted for filing a false report to police.
