A southern Kentucky mother who lost her daughter at the hands of a drunk driver is fighting for a new law.
Brittany Shoap died in a drunk driving accident in 2005.
Ryan West, the man behind the wheel, is now serving time for manslaughter.
Shoap's mother wants Kentucky to make vehicular homicide a law.
Right now a person can only be charged with murder or manslaughter.
Bastin is working with mothers against drunk driving to change that.
Bastin also wants anyone convicted of a DUI to have to use a breathalizer device before starting a car.
