A blast of wintry weather is expected to move into Central and Eastern Kentucky by Thursday morning.

The system will bring a little bit of snow, high winds and colder temperatures.

Highs are expected to be in the mid twenties, but it will feel like the low teens because of the wind chill.

We do not expect to see much snow, but what falls is expected to stick to the ground.

The Kentucky Transportation Department is getting ready for the expected wintry weather on Thursday.

Road crews in the Lexington, Louisville and Northern Kentucky areas pre-treated interstates and other state highways on Wednesday.

The department says they have crews on stand by to hit the highways as soon as the bad weather begins.
