Police Continue Search For Prison Inmate

An inmate from the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard is still on the loose. Now police say Rodney Stamper was in custody for theft by unlawful taking.

Police say Stamper escaped from the Hazard ARH while he was under jail supervision at the hospital. Police say shortly before his escape, Stamper received a male visitor, but police say they do not know if the visitor is connected to Stamper's escape.

At the time of the escape, police say Stamper was wearing a grey sweat suit and may have had an IV in him.

Police say officials at the Kentucky River Regional Jail are conducting an investigation.
