Somerset is now looking for a new police chief.
Chief David Biggerstaff released a statement Tuesday morning saying he's resigning effective December 22nd.
Biggerstaff says he decided to leave after meeting with the new mayor elect.
He says the two could not agree on a direction for the police department.
