This weekend marks the tenth anniversary of a presidential visit to the mountains.

On July 5th, 1999 WYMT had live coverage of President Clinton's visit to downtown Hazard.

He also made a stop in Jackson County.

The president spoke to thousands of people on Main Street on a very hot day.

At that time, the economy was in good shape but the president was pointing out that certain parts
of the country like Appalachia were still lagging behind.
