Accused child killer back in court

Lewis "Buck" Ballard was back in court Thursday as his attorney voiced concerns about his case and upcoming trial.

Ballard's attorney voiced objections about motions made by prosecutors and talking specifically about jury selections and court procedures during the trial. The judge decided not to take any action on those Thursday.

Ballard is scheduled to go to trial in October. This comes after his lawyers repeatedly argued the original August date was too soon.

Ballard is accused of sodomizing and killing 6-year-old Wesley Mullins in 2007. Police say Ballard killed the child inside a garage in Paris. Ballard was staying with Mullins' grandfather at the time. Ballard is expected to be back in court for another hearing on motions on July 31.
