A police investigation is underway in Northern Kentucky.
The case involves a Falmouth officer who shot a man outside his home.
Right after four this morning officer Brian Locknane responded to a domestic violence call.
When he arrived at the home police say Albert Teague came out with a rifle.
State police say he pointed the gun directly at the officer who fired one shot hitting the man in the chest.
The man was listed in critical condition at a Cincinnati hospital.
Officer Locknane has been placed on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
