Man Dies After Car Plunges Into River

Video will be available shortly

Police say a man was killed Saturday afternoon after his car ran off the road, and into a river.
It happened along Dry Branch Road, not far from Harrodsburg.
Police say the car slid on a patch of ice and hit a tree, before plunging into the river.
The car's passenger, Billy Thomas, was able to kick out one of the windows, and eventually escape.
He tried to rescue the driver, Hank Lanham, but was unsuccessful.
Rescue crews eventually got to Lanham, but he later died at a nearby hospital.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is now investigating the accident.
