School bus drivers could be fined if they're caught using cell phones if a bill that's moving through the general assembly becomes law.
Drivers would be fined fifty dollars the first time they're caught using a cell phone while driving and one hundred dollars the second time.
They could also lose their endorsement for six months if caught repeatedly breaking the law.
The bill does not include a penalty of termination.
The bill passed the house education committee without opposition.
