Motorcycle run to be held for Trooper Island

Motorcycle riders are invited to ride through the Big Sandy region on Sunday for a good cause.

The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post is holding its annual motorcycle ride this Sunday to benefit Trooper Island.

The event is in memory of fallen troopers from post nine.

The ride will travel through Pike, Floyd, Johnson, Martin, and Magoffin Counties.

“It's going to be a fun day. It's for a good cause. It's for Trooper Island, and we send 700 kids a year, and this is how we do it, with golf tournaments, and bike rides, and so forth,” Mike Goble said.

The ride starts at ten o'clock at the Pikeville Wal-Mart. The cost is ten dollars per bike, 20 dollars per couple.

Lunch will be provided.
