A new development regarding the controversy surrounding Allen Central High School's use of the Confederate Flag.
Monday afternoon, the site based council voted to let the students of Allen Central decide whether or not they want to keep the Confederate Flag as their school emblem.
“It was the kids who decided it in the mid 70's, I think it should be the kids that decide it this time. the students are gonna do what they think is right and what their views are,” Larry Maynard said.
Students will cast their votes on whether or not they want to keep the flag within the next few weeks.
Maynard says the council will discuss the results and make a decision of their own sometime in March.
