Comair Flight 5191 crashed during take-off at Blue Grass Airport killing 49 people.

Tonight, on the anniversary of the crash, a documentary honoring one of those victims will debut in Lexington.

The historic Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington will premiere that documentary entitled Pat Smith's Habitat Promise.

Prior to his death, Pat Smith was one of Habitat for Humanity's most loyal and active volunteers. He had organized habitat missions around the world, and on that fateful morning in August he was traveling to the
U.S. Gulf Coast to help hurricane Katrina victims rebuild.

Smith had started what later became known as the Kentucky-Mississippi project. Kentucky Habitat for Humanity was to provide supervision and volunteers to build 13 homes on one devastated street in Gulfport, Mississippi.

After Pat's death, friends, family and people inspired by his story rallied to help complete the promise he had made to those displaced families in Gulfport.

The documentary written, produced, and directed by Lexington native Travis Jones will focus on that habitat project in Mississippi.

The premiere is being put on by the Pat Smith Habitat for Humanity endowment fund established by Pat's family.

The fund is to continue his vision of providing affordable housing to those in Lexington and around the world.
