It was another emotional day of testimony in an eastern Kentucky trial.
Jason Ison is facing vehicular homicide charges in Letcher County after his wife, cousin, and friend died in a car accident in which he was behind the wheel.
Several more witnesses testified that they believed Jason Ison was under the influence of drugs,
when the car he was driving killed three people in an October 2005 accident on highway 15
The 22 year old Ison remained emotional at times in court Wednesday, as a forensic lab chemist testified that three types of drugs were found in Ison's urine test.
No drugs were found in a similar blood test, but a friend of Ison's says he appeared under the influence just minutes before the crash.
Ison is charged with three counts of vehicular homicide, as well as assault and wanton endangerment, after a mother and her two small children were also injured in the crash
“He approached me, and grabbed me and said, what have I done and I said I don't know, I have to get to my kids,” Tracy Craft said.
Thursday, the defense will begin their case.
A toxicologist from Cincinnati is expected to testify.
