Friends and family of a soldier from Eastern Kentucky who died fighting in Iraq said their final goodbyes Monday.
25 year old Staff Sergeant Terry Prater was born and lived much of his life in Floyd County. Monday, his family spread his ashes over a favorite fishing hole in Union County, Tennessee where most recently lived.
Prater was killed March 15th while serving a second tour in Iraq. A fellow soldier says Prater's bravery on the battlefield once saved his life.
"He saved my life twice over there and each day I live will be in honor of him because I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him," said Sgt. Tom Ngo.
Prater leaves behind a wife and two children.
