Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Apartment Fire

The coroner says 32 year old James Champkara died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

Firefighters found him near an exit of his apartment building on Surfside Drive, after a fire broke out there last Saturday.

Three others were treated for smoke inhalation, while a fourth suffered a broken leg after she jumped from her second story window.

Arson investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire, saying it looks suspicious.

I feel like this is a typical close minded Kentucky hate crime. Although this is a city, it is still like Eastern Kentucky. People are still immune to other people from other countries.
