Whitley Man Will Spend 12 Year In Prison

A Whitley County man will spend 12 years in prison after admitting he tried to kill his grandparents.

Tyler Pollitte appeared for sentencing in Whitley Circuit Court.

The attack happened last June.

Pollitte was accused of trying to kill his grandfather with a knife and trying to shoot his grandmother at their Whitley County home.

The grandfather was able to get his own gun and fired shots at Pollitte, who ran off.

The grandparents, Wayne and Helen Gilbert, are still recovering from the attack and were not at the sentencing.
