Grand Jury Indicts "Blond Wig Bandit"

Police say besides being called the "Blond Wig Bandit," Charles Sanford is also a serial bank robber.

They say he's responsible for most of the bank robberies that occurred late last year and early this year in Lexington.

He was arrested January 29 after police say he robbed the Chase Bank on Alexandria Drive.

Surveillance video shows a man dressed in a blond wing with a gun at that bank, and at a Bank of the Bluegrass just a few days earlier. Police say both are Sanford.

Police also say cameras helped police link Sanford to four other bank robberies.

A Fayette County Grand Jury indicted Sanford Tuesday. He's still at the Fayette County Detention Center.
