An eastern Tennessee man accused of stealing gas and then leading officers on a chase through several counties is in jail.

The Claiborne Progress Reports Gary Strange of Friendsville drove off from the Shell Station in Dogwood Heights in Claiborne County Monday around noon.

Officers from several departments chased Strange before cornering him in nearby Union County.

He is facing several charges, including reckless driving and evading arrest.
