EKU Campus Evacuated

Police are investigating a bomb threat that caused the evacuation of students and staff at Eastern Kentucky University's Manchester campus.

The university says the threat came in an e-mail received on campus.

A statement from the university says emergency officials were notified and the campus was evacuated. E-K-U police responded in cooperation with Kentucky State Police, Manchester police and other
emergency personnel.

A search of the campus didn't find anything suspicious and the all clear was given at around four Wednesday afternoon.

Bomb threats have been reported at a number of schools across the country following Monday's shooting spree at Virginia Tech that left 33 people dead.

Im getting ready to graduate high school and I plan on attending S.C.C. and with all the threats and stress of the schools I feel that its no longer safe to walk outside of your front door without the fear of feeling like something is going to happen to you. I work at a gas station in London and it seem that every time I turn around you hear something about violence at schools or in the childrens homes. As citizens in the State of Kentucky and of the United States Of America I feel we need to stand for our country and for our future, protect and serve! we all need to pitch in and keep Kentucky a safer place and a better learning enviornment!
